Softbank hopes for profit
The problems of increasing costs and finding new contracts is forcing Softbank, one of the largest systems integrators in this country, to consolidate its group.
Last year gross profits stood at PLN45.1m and net profit at PLN34m, considerably down on the PLN51m achieved in 1999. In the first quarter of this year the company reported its first ever operating loss. Despite this it is expecting to report a profit of PLN52m on a turnover of PLN490m this year.
Last September Gdynia based competitor Prokom bought a ten percent stake of the company. This led to rumours of a merger. The two are however working together but in what fields remains a secret.© ℗
