Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The WIG20 index ended 1.76 percent up although it was falling even 3.9 percent during the day. The difference between the day’s height and bottom amounted to 181 points.

The other markets of the region were also falling but the Warsaw Stock Exchange noted the highest falls. MIDWIG was losing even 7.5 percent while WIRR above 10.6 percent during the day. There was a moment during the day when only three companies were rising and nearly 20 were falling at least 20 percent, while several dozens of others were losing at least 10 percent. Bioton insulin producer was trading even 20 percent below its yesterday’s level.

It was KGHM copper producer who started the upward trend. Copper prices rebounded today. KGHM was joined by other companies. However, only 49 companies ended up, 26 remained unchanged and 182 firms closed lower. Shares worth PLN 3.096 billion changed hands, the second highest result in Warsaw, after November 10 2004 when PKO BP was first listed.
