There were several reasons for vigorous trade today. Firstly, investors from London City came back after long weekend. Secondly, there was no more uncertainty concerning second quarter GDP data. Thirdly, holidays are nearly over and the IPO of PGNiG gas monopoly is approaching. The PLN 1.5 billion IPO starts on Thursday.

KGHM copper producer was very strong today – shares gained 3.3 percent while shares worth PLN 113m changed hands. Tomorrow, the company is going to raise its financial forecasts. Fuel companies remained strong. TPSA telecom was losing 0.5 percent during the day but ended unchanged.
