WIG20 ends down, WIG falls after its record

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) –  99 companies ended up, 120 firms ended down and 23 remained unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) –  99 companies ended up, 120 firms ended down and 23 remained unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.  

The WIG20 index dropped 1.15 percent and ended at 3,173.35 points. Shares worth PLN 1,348.53 changed hands, 28.9 percent up. WIG lost 0.55 percent after its record reached yesterday. MIDWIG and TechWIG resisted the downward trend. MIDWIG rose 0.36 percent to 3,504.35 while TechWIG added 0.04 percent to 1,144.94 points.

The following companies attracted most trade: KGHM copper producer, Millennium bank, PKN Orlen fuel giant, TP telecom and Pekao bank. The following companies rose most: Odlewnie (15 percent), Elektrim (14.3 percent), PCGuard (11.8 percent), Polna (11.6 percent) and Mediatel (7.4 percent).

Elektrim was trading over 20 percent higher after the court of appeal said that Elektrim’s and T-Mobile Deutschland’s appeal from the decision of the Vienna court from December 20th 2005 was right.
