Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The WSE followed world markets, as it used to do in the previous months. Before the session, negative signals appeared: Fed reduced interest rates, Asian markets ended down.

Despite the fact that the Polish economy is in a totally different state than the US one, Monday’s session shows that the most important thing for investors is what’s happening abroad. Banks were among the worst performers. PKO BP was losing 4.73 percent, Pekao 5.88 percent, BRE Bank 3.12 percent while Bank BPH 2.54 percent. Decreases were noted also by PKN Orlen fuel giant (-5.83 percent), its rival Grupa Lotos (-3.25 percent) and KHGM copper producer (-5.63 percent). Polnord construction company was losing over 8 percent during day but ended 0.75 percent up. CEDC rose 5.31 on the news it had acquired a Russian vodka brand and raised its financial forecasts.

WIG20 fell 3.55 percent today. It was losing 4.44 percent during the day. The volume of trade was low and amounted to PLN 1.1bn. Good news is that the low as of January 21st was defended.
