Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The WIG20 index opened down and ended even lower. It dropped to 1,682.5 points and was the weakest index in Europe.
The 20 share blue chips index opened 2.35 percent down, below the level of 1,800 which it had managed to exceed yesterday. It ended 7.6 percent down.
KGHM copper producer and two biggest banks dragged the market down. KGHM
dived 10.3 percent to PLN 22.2, the lowest level in three years. Pekao shed 9.8
percent although its main shareholder, Italian Unicredit, lost 6 percent on
Milan stock exchange. PKO BP decreased 6.4 percent.
