WIG20 loses 3.75 percent this week

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – This week, the WIG20 index has shed 3.75 percent. Today, it ended 0.2 percent up, which makes no difference in the market.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – This week, the WIG20 index has shed 3.75 percent. Today, it ended 0.2 percent up, which makes no difference in the market.

TPSA telecom was the most traded company, shares worth over PLN 100 m (EUR 23.4 m) changed hands and rebounded just 0.6 percent. In the morning, the situation was better as shares jumped 2 percent. BRE Bank was the best performer among blue chips with a 2.5 percent rise, but shares worth only PLN 9 m changed hands. BRE Bank published its first quarter results in the morning: consolidated net income amounted to PLN 64.22 m, over two times more than in the same period of last year.

Prokom and Softbank IT companies were the worst performers in the WIG20 index. Prokom lost 4.9 percent and ended the day at PLN 99, the lowest level in 2 and a half years. Softbank shed 2.9 percent and its shares are at the level last reached in October 2004.
