WSE: Blue chips had good week, small- and mid-caps ended down

The last day of trading on did not change the market substantially. Blue chips worth PLN 1bn changed hands. Yesterday, two companies, TP and Pekao generated such trade.

In the last week, blue chips gained most. The WIG20 index rose 1.9 percent. mWIG40 on the other hand shed 2.5 percent while sWIG80 0.9 percent.

TVN TV broadcaster added 12.2 percent this week to PLN 26.42 on higher sales forecast and very good target price by Citigroup (PLN 32). TP telecom rose 7.6 percent in the last five days. Having presented better-then-expected quarterly results, TP had its share price raised by HSBC from PLN 23.5 to PLN 25. Today, the stock closed at PLN 23.56.

Stock of Cersanit tile producer on the other hand lost 6.4 percent to PLN 40.7 after Opoczno shareholders did not vote on selling its assets to Cersanit. Polimex-Mostostal construction company dropped 4.4 percent. Since mid-October, the stock has cost between PLN 11-12. The trend may change after the company presents its results on November 9th.
