WSE: Building companies were the best performers this week

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Investors of the Warsaw Stock Exchange ended this week in a better mood after WIG20 made a stop to the downward trend and rose 0.18 percent.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Investors of the Warsaw Stock Exchange ended this week in a better mood after WIG20 made a stop to the downward trend and rose 0.18 percent. 

The 20 share blue chips index ended at 3,405.02 points and is just 53 points, or 1.55 percent below its record as of January 19th. Construction and home building companies were the best performers on the GPW this week. TUP, Energopol, Mostostal-Export, Polnord, Gant, Echo or Budopol were among the stock which noted the highest increases. GTC home builder gained 12.2 percent to PLN 52.5, the all-time record today. This week, the biggest developer listed in Warsaw added 7.2 percent. In the same time, WIG lost 1 percent and WIG20 lost 1.53 percent.  

BRE Bank was the worst performer this week. The stock shed 11.1 percent. In the last five days, the stock kept falling after it had jumped 15.7 percent a week earlier. TVN media group also continued its downward trend on the threat that TV Puls controlled by Rupert Murdoch may endanger its position. The stock fell 9.2 percent this week.
