Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The first half of the year was not particularly good for Zelmer but the home appliances producer restated its financial forecasts.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The first half of the year was not particularly good for Zelmer but the home appliances producer restated its financial forecasts.

In the second quarter, Zelmer had PLN 2.8m (EUR 722,400) of net income. The producer of hoovers, blenders, etc. had 35.7 percent worse result than a year earlier. However, since April till June, the sales grew 6.8 percent to PLN 67m.

“The beginning of the year was supposed to be weaker and so it was. I believe our results were ok. But this is all behind us”, Janusz Plocica, Zelmer CEO said.

Zelmer is ready for the second half of the year when the sales are traditionally bigger.

“We are launching a marketing and advertising campaign. We have prepared many novelties”, the CEO revealed.

In 2005, the second half was 26 percent better as far as sales are concerned.

“This year, the growth will be even bigger”, Janusz Plocica promised.

He restated this year’s financial forecasts. They amount to PLN 341.1m of sales and PLN 31.8m of net income. The company had PLN 90m of cash. It is going to pay out PLN 31.9m as dividend.

“We are running negotiations concerning an acquisition. If we manage to find a good place to invest, the money will stay in the company, if not – we will give them to our shareholders”, the CEO said.
