Comarch increases sales by 11.5 percent but income falls in QI

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Comarch, Poland’s listed IT integrator, had PLN 74 m (EUR 17.6 m) of sales in the first quarter, or 11.5 percent more than in the same period of last year. Operating and net income, however fell. Operating income amounted to PLN 1.5 m this year, against PLN 4.45 m last year, while net income fell to PLN 1.3 m from 3.6 m.

Operating and net income, however fell. Operating income amounted to PLN 1.5 m this year, against PLN 4.45 m last year, while net income fell to PLN 1.3 m from 3.6 m. The company explained worse results with growing costs but did not change its forecast: it plans to increase sales and income by 20 percent. In 2004, sales amounted to PLN 330 m, and net income to PLN 14 m.

‘Foreign marketing, R&D and personal costs grew in the first quarter. Last year, we had 400 employees, now 1,500. Last year, was an investment year. Now, the company will focus to use its resources’, Rafal Chwast, Comarch deputy CEO said. He added, that Comarch increased its orders portfolio by 20 percent to PLN 204 m. Comarch is Poland’s first IT company to engage in exports. It has its outlets in USA and Germany.
