Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Stocznia Gdynia shipyard needs additional PLN 1 billion (EUR 257m). The Ukrainians expect the state will provide these funds.

According to the previous plans for Gdynia shipyard, its investor was supposed to spend PLN 500m for investments and financial restructuring of the company. The same amount of money would be provided by the state to pay back the shipyard’s debts.

“We’re having a meeting. All the parties will present their estimates of real financial needs and amounts necessary to restructure the shipyard. In our opinion, the amounts stated so far may turn out to be too low”, Konstanty Litwinow, the CEO of ISD Polska, the Polish unit of Donbas said.

He does not provide any specific amount of money. According to “PB” sources, however, Donbas estimates the additional needs at PLN 1 billion. And it looks like it is the state who would provide these funds.
