Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Arka wants to become the biggest investment fund corporation in Poland. New products and good investment results should be helpful here.

A year ago, there were no emotions on the Polish market of investment fund corporations. Pioneer Pekao managed assets of over PLN 19.5 billion (EUR 5.2 billion) while following BZ WBK AIB (manages Arka and Lukas funds) only PLN 9 billion. A lot has changed in recent months. BZ WBK AIB TFI rose by PLN 8 billion in 2006 while Pekao by less than PLN 4 billion.
“We want to have over PLN 25 billion of assets at the end of the year. I don’t know if we will be the leader then but we will become one sooner or later”, Krzysztof Samotij, BZ WBK AIB TFI CEO said.
The company forecasts that assets will grow by PLN 8 billion this year, which seems a very modest level, especially that in January the assets grew by PLN 1.5 billion. And there are going to be many new products this year. Besides, the Polish government is changing the fund law.
“We are successful mainly thanks to our investment results”, Krzysztof Samotij believes.
Arka and Lukas are leading in nearly all categories. The company has also generated bigger result in 2006 than a year earlier.
