The Pengab index of banking confidence has fallen dramatically. This month it fell by 2.5 points to 24.9, some ten points lower than where it was at one year ago. Reasons for the fall include lack of interest in foreign currency accounts and credits as well as signals that deposit accounts could be subject to taxation.
