Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Bumar wants to build an R&D center.

The Bumar group gathers the majority of Polish defense companies. It plans to further develop the holding. Whether it will, will be decided by the government probably as early as this week.

“It’s very important to us that the government approves of the program and conducts the second stage of the consolidation. Jointly with research institutes we plan to build an R&D center. It would let us implement new defense projects, build prototypes of defense equipment etc. alone or jointly with international organizations”, Roman Baczynski, Bumar CEO said.

The Polish government is going to spend about PLN 2.5 billion (EUR 657.5m) for R&D in the defense sector in the upcoming years.

Bumar lures the government with interesting projects which may be supported by the European Union.

“We have 18 R&D programs for the defense sector and interesting civil projects. Jointly with Siemens, Bosch and one of the Slovakian companies, we have submitted a project in the European Commission for road security system”, the CEO added.
