A medical-IT-healthcare cluster is being found in southern Poland. The founder is Stowarzyszenie Klaster Medycyna Polska Poludniowy-Wschod, an association comprised of several local clinics. It cooperates with numerous medical and IT companies.
“We are building a cluster on the basis of business relations”, Andrzej Witek, the CEO of Center Med from Tarnow said.
The project started with several clinics which decided to cooperate instead of compete. Then, IT companies joined offering software for the growing network. At the end of April and beginning of May, a coordination bureau of the cluster will be launched. A month later, contracts among the members will be signed. The association has already agreed to cooperate with six health resorts located in south-eastern Poland. The cluster is going to invite universities and scientists to the project.
“We want to build a chain: scientists think of new solutions, companies produce them, the medical branch implements them, and local authorities support them”, Andrzej Witek explained.
The association has filed for funds at the Agency of Industrial Development ARP.
