CP Energia, a company owned fifty-fifty by listed Capital Partners and PL Energia, is going to distribute gas. Today, only companies owned by PGNiG gas monopoly deal with that. On January 1st 2006, CP Energia will sell gas to its first clients. It is going to be LNG, however, and not gas from pipelines. The gas will be bought in Russia.
We have signed our first agreements. One of Grupa Sokolow companies is our client, Piotr Buszka, CP Energia CEO said.
LNG is an alternative to gas distributed via pipelines. It is also more expensive. Therefore, CP Energia is going to build its pipeline and sell the cheaper gas. CP Energia will import LNG from Russia. Unofficial sources say that from near St. Petersburg. The Polish company is also planning to build its own LNG installation.
We want to import 50m cubic meters of this fuel annually, Piotr Buszka said.
