Decora plans an acquisition in Germany

Decora, the producer of home accessories from Wielkopolska region, is about to conclude the biggest acquisition in its history.

Decora, one of Poland’s biggest producers and distributors of articles used to finish interiors, has so far focused on Central and Eastern European markets. Now, it sees in chances in the West as well.

“We have signed a letter of intent with a big German company, a distributor of floor finishing products. The acquisition will be vital for us. It should be conducted at the end of the third and the beginning of the fourth quarter”, Paulina Kolodko, Decora PR manager said.

The company does not reveal the value of the transaction. It is financing it with a credit. “This is going to be our biggest acquisition ever. We hope it will support the development of our network”, Paulina Kolodko added.
 
Decora is also running talks with several companies in Bulgaria. It considers acquiring or founding new companies.
 
Decora group consists of two production and several distribution companies, including foreign ones: in Russia, Croatia, Romania and Hungary. Decore exports to nearly 40 percent 60 percent of its sales. At the end of the second quarter, it had PLN 5.1m (EUR 1.3m) of net income against PLN 56m of sales.
