E-taxes project is delayed

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) - The possibility to send CIT, PIT and VAT declarations via mail will be introduced in Poland much later than planned. Tenders for this project were to be announced in the middle of October. They were not.

We have given up starting tenders in the eleventh hour prior to new government founding, Grzegorz Fiuk, the head of IT department in the Ministry of Fiance explained.

He added that the tender for the IT system may ba announced in November.

In December, another tender would be announced - for the system administrator. Companies are worried.

The implementation of this project is delayed nearly by a year. We may forget implementing e-declarations in August 2006, which was promised by the Ministry of Finance, an anonymous CEO of an IT company commented.

The Ministry of Finance has PLN 152m (EUR 38.3m) for the project. This is part of PLN 1.5 billion to be spent on e-taxes project, which should be in operation in 2012.
