This week there will be a further negotiating round leading up to the tender to choose a multi purpose combat aircraft for the Polish Air Force. Last week it was the turn of the French Dassault, this week it is BAe Systems-Saab.
The choice has been more difficult as defence minister Janusz Zemke wants the planes to be equally fighters, ground attack and reconnaissance. The only planes so far offered have been fighters. In order to fit in with this new requirement the law needs to be changed. Poland has stated that it is willing to rent 16 previously used aircraft and buy 44 more.
