At first, along with its strategy, HSBC would focus on a narrow market segment. Now it wants to leave its niche. However, it wants to be slightly different than its rivals.
“We want to be present in every market segment but our offer is directed to companies which want to develop their business and run it abroad”, Pawel Kusiak, the new corporate business director at HSBC said.
The bank is only now building its market. It has clients among 700 companies (there should be 800 ones this year), which means below 1 percent of the corporate market. Pawel Kusiak explains that HSBC has been offering corporate services for two years only and it will be in the preliminary stage next year. In 2012, it wants to have several percents of Polish companies in its portfolio.
