Icelandic fish in Poland
Another Scandinavian fish processing company is going to try to make a go for it in Poland. Last year Superfish was acquired by the Swedish Abba Seafoods. The Iceland based Bakkavor, part of the Norwegian Orkli Foods AB has now announced that it is going to spend USD3m on a fish processing factory near Warsaw.
The company has already found a suitable location although a final decision will be taken next week by the directors of the company.
Construction will be in two phases, with the first phase being complete next summer and the second the year after. Once complete the factory will be able to process between 200 and 300 tons of fish per month and will employ 100 people.
