Poland is to follow the example of countries like Austria and the Czech Republic and to produce biofuels. The agricultural ministry has released a plan which would see nearly 1.5m hectares of land turned over to rape production from which fuel is obtained.
In order for biofuel to be workable, it must be free of excise duty. The government has now promised to look into this.
