Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Although the volume of trade was slightly higher today and amounted to PLN 1bn, indices ended down.

It looked that after US markets had closed high yesterday, the WSE would grow today. However, European markets were falling on bad news from several European banks. The WSE was not strong enough to resist the downward trend. The WIG20 index lost 0.3 percent. mWIG40 shed 0.6 percent. WIG rose slightly – by 0.1 percent.

Only two blue chips, including GTC and TVN reacted to their quarterly reports. GTC construction company was the best performer with 5 percent increase on results much above anticipations. TVN on the other hand was the worst performer and lost nearly 3 percent after the media concern had reported results lower than expected.
