Indices could not have risen today

Too many negative events happened for the Polish bourse to notice rises today. Yesterday, Wall Street fell, and the Western European bourses started the day with decreases. Polish currency zloty weakened. WIG20 started the day with a 0.32 percent dive. It ended the day 1.31 percent below its Wednesday level. Good news is that the volume of trade fell by half.

Companies which grew most yesterday, today were the worst performers. Stalexport shed 5.5 percent after it jumped 16.5 percent on Wednesday. BZ WBK bank lost over 3 percent, while BPH bank, Grupa Kety and Agora media group decreased 2 percent each. PKN Orlen fuel giant fell more than the index, while KGHM copper producer, Pekao bank and TPSA telecom lost around 0.7 percent each.
