Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The Warsaw Stock Exchange fell on Monday after the Wall Street closed down on Friday.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The Warsaw Stock Exchange fell on Monday after the Wall Street closed down on Friday.

 The 20 share blue chips index ended at the lowest level of the day, or 3,344.45 points. Good news is that the volume of trade was low, blue chips generated PLN 700m of trade just before the market closed. There were several transactions made in the eleventh hour worth PLN 215m.

 Bioton insulin producer resisted the downward trend while shares worth PLN 45m changed hands. PGNiG gas monopoly fell 0.8 percent. Agora media group was the worst performer with 7.1 percent dive. The company is publishing its fourth quarter results next week. Analysts are optimistic. So were investors: last week, the stock added 5.2 percent. Kety aluminium producer dropped 4.2 percent. After the company disappointed with its fourth quarter results, several brokerages lowered their evaluation of the company’s stock. In a month, the company will be replaced by Cersanit in the WIG20 index.
