Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The management of KGHM, Poland’s listed copper producer, decided last Friday to pay out bonuses for its employees.

17,500 employees of KGHM will receive extra bonuses. All trade unions demanded it after the company had PLN 1.5 billion (EUR 370.5) of net income in the first five months of the year. Two of them warned they would go on strike unless their postulates are met. The management decided last Friday to pay out a bonus worth 90 percent of the monthly wage of each employee. The management refused to say, how much it will cost. It may be estimated at least at PLN 70m.

“We have decided to do so to prevent further destabilization in the company”, Krzysztof Skora, KGHM CEO explained.
