Listed Rafako gets a huge contract

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The company from Raciborz signed a contract with Vattenfall Heat Poland worth PLN 489m (EUR 144.7m) to build an installation at Warsaw power plant. The order should be implemented till August 2012.

This is the biggest contract Rafako has ever received. The company’s management told about it during the day and the stock was suspended from trading for an hour. In the morning, before the news was published, Rafako was falling even 5 percent. It did not jump on the news because it was published several weeks ago. The stock rose later, it was trading even 10 percent up.

Rafako, which has no problems with orders, has difficulties with margins of profit. In the first quarter, the company had PLN 274.4m of sales and PLN 2.22m of net income which means that the profitability amounts to 0.8 percent. A year earlier, sales amounted to PLN 178.8m and the net income to PLN 3.33m.
