On Thursday the NASDAQ gained 2.7 percent and the Dow 1.1 percent which was good enough reason for Europeans to consider buying back some of the stock they panic sold during the week. It was a considerably good day with western European markets showing average growth around two percent. In Poland the WIG gained 1.6 percent and closed at 12,973 points whilst the WIG20 gained 2.3 percent to close at 1,064 points. Nonetheless the markets closed the week in a worse position than that which they started it.

It was a good day for systems integrators as Softbank gained 9.2 percent, Prokom 6.7 percent and Computerland 3.8 percent but Elektrim hit a new all time low of PLN1.14, a loss of yet another five percent on the day. This has to be a truly highly speculative stock now offering a vague chance of earning a lot if a deal can be found to keep the company afloat but the likelyhood is of losing everything.
