Nestlé hits on coffee shops
Nestlé is the next company which plans to open a network of coffee shops. The first shop opened in late winter and soon afterwards it was followed by two more shops. The company has chosen a franchising option although details have not yet been made public.
Agnieszka Wąsak of Nestlé said that the company will be opening more coffee shops although she did not reveal where.
Competitor in the coffee market Tchibo has already opened four coffee shops in Warsaw, one in Katowice and one in Wrocław. Maria Oskroba of Tchibo says that more will be opened.
Tchibo was also a bit reluctant to reveal more but Michael Ovadenko, the managing director of Bakery Services Polska was a lot more forthcoming. His company has opened four outlets in Warsaw and one in Gdynia under the Coffee Heaven banner at a cost of USD1m.
Michael Ovadenko says that Poland is a good place for this type of business and that is why the company will be increasing the number of its coffee shops to 25 within the next two years.
