Telekomunikacja Polska has started the process of updating its IT systems and has taken the decision to replace that offered by Wasko for that proposed by Katowice based Spin. It would also appear that the systems operating in Kraków and Olsztyn by Kraków based Comarch will also be replaced. The company says that the upkeep of two systems is much more expensive than just one.

A new system for business clients is also expected at the beginning of next year although for reasons of cost, a solution proposed by Spin may be accepted rather than that of a western integrator.

The signing of the customer relations management system contract with the consortium of Sofrecom, Prokom and Pricewater-houseCoopers has also been delayed. The sides appear to be arguing over details although it is said that a final agreement will be reached next month. Rumour has it that the contract could be worth PLN150m — PLN180m. However the system is highly unlikely to be operational by the end of next year which could result in it being more expensive than planned.
