The audit office, Najwyzsza Izba Kontroli (NIK), has concluded a report on the restructuring of the mining industry over the past twelve years. In September the government will get a chance to see it and then details will be released to the public. Whereas details are not yet known, it would seem that auditors have really laid the boot in. They have discovered that despite a fortune laid out in subsidies and other aid, the sector is no closer today than it was twelve years ago to profitability, on the contrary, it has just headed continually in the wrong direction.
