One year ago Swissair passed into history. The airline had hoped to be at the centre of an airline alliance and part of these plans saw the company taking a 25.1 percent stake in LOT. The fate of these shares is still not known. Currently it is in the hands of the Dutch SAirLines Europe, which owes SAir Group Finance EUR825m and that is why the latter will receive almost all the cash raised through the sale of the LOT shares and the deciding voice in who buys them.
