The World Cup was said by commentators in London for the reason why Western markets did so well on Monday with rises of two to three percent. Whereas in London and Frankfurt this is understandable, one wonders what the French have done to get excited. The Warsaw market followed the Polish football team going nowhere, closing only a little up on the day.
It needs to be pointed out that losses in western markets were much greater than here in Poland last week and clearly investors could be picking up bargains. There is still a lot of nervousness and investors are looking for the United States to take the lead.
