On October 2nd, the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) concluded the tender to buy two frequencies. Both were admitted to Centernet, a company dependent on Midas fund. The latter is connected with Roman Karkosik investor. Centernet resigned from one of the frequencies. Tolpis, Polkomtel, Centertel (Orange operator) and PTC (Era operator) want to buy the remaining frequency.
Meanwhile, Orange and Era submitted their files to cancel the tender. In their opinion, the law was infringed. UKE decided that new operators would pay 100 times smaller license fee than the ones already present on the market.
“The present operators were disadvantaged because
in order to have any chances in the tender, they would have to offer
unrealistically high prices”, Jacek Kalinowski, Centertel spokesman
said.
