Centertel, the operator of Orange mobile telecom, has 13.487m clients, or nearly 15 percent more than a year ago. Polkomtel, operator of Plus, is going to announce the number of its clients on November 10th. Grazyna Piotrowska-Oliwa, Orange CEO, says, however, that her company is leading here but only slightly.
“It’s pretty hard to compare the number of clients of different operators. It is the operator who decides when to disconnect an inactive pre-paid client. That’s why the data announced by Orange and Polkomtel may differ”, Jacek Kuzniecow from Polkomtel said.
The company plans to have 14m clients at the year-end.
The Polish Central Statistical Office GUS has
recently said that the saturation of the market exceeds 100 percent. However,
part of SIM cards are inactive. There are also many clients with two phones,
which means that there are still people with no mobile at all.
