PKO BP has over 2,200 bank agencies today. Every fourth is connected with the bank’s system. The rest, as it was common many years ago, fill in the documents manually, then send them to the bank, where an employee enters the data into the system. PKO BP believes that the performance of its outer network is too low. Agents generate only 6 percent of cash credits and 2 percent of mortgage loans.
That’s why PKO BP is building a new network of franchise outlets which will
be complementary to the present one. The bank estimates that only 20 percent of
present agents will change their operations. The rest will be newly based
outlets. Till 2012, there are going to be 800 of them. They should generate 15
percent of PKO BP’s sales. The bank will have a say as far as the location,
employees, image and products offered are concerned. All franchise outlets will
be part of PKO BP IT network, and will have access to the help desk, client data
bases and products.
