Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Comp Warszawa, Poland’s IT company, was listed on the Polish stock exchange GPW for the first time. Shares cost even PLN 50 (EUR 12.3) but they closed at the level of PLN 43. In December, Prokom computer integrator bought 550,000 Comp’s shares for PL 37.5 each. The listing brought a 33 percent increase. 1.76 m shares were traded last Friday.
This year, Comp plans to issue 450,000 new shares. ‘The funds will be spent on acquisitions or buying know-how’, Jacek Papaj, Comp CEO explained. He added, he was interested in companies focusing on the same business as Comp, i.e. IT security. Initially, Comp hoped to earn PLN 45 m from selling its shares to Prokom but it got only PLN 20.8 as Prokom bought a 23.9 percent stake. It has an option, however, to increase its stake to 40-50 percent.
In 2004, Comp group had PLN 2.4 m of loss, preliminary estimates say. The loss was due to a financial transaction. This year, Comp plans to have PLN 10 m of net income.
