Poland: Auction for border protecting system

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) - The auction for system of protecting polish, eastern border has just been announced. The project is going to require investment of EUR 52,2 million. The whole money will be obtained from UE Schengen Fund.

The biggest polish IT companies will compete, among them Prokom and Computerland. The auction will have two stages, the first one begins 4th November. If there is no delays, the procedure should be finished at the beginning of next year. The winner will have to complete the system in two years. According to auction's conditions, system has to start operating at the end of 2006.

Companies has already started to build a consortiums. Prokom will operate with Elbit and Alcatel, Computerland holds talks with IBM. At the moment some other IT companies declares their interest e.g. Comarch, Emax, Ster-Project or Biatela.
