Poland: KP beer producer increases income by 9 percent

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Kompania Piwowarska (KP), Poland’s leading beer producer, increased net income last year to PLN 481 m (EUR 114.9 m), or 9 percent. Sales grew to PLN 3.36 billion from PLN 3 billion, or 12 percent. ‘Our income makes up 75 percent of income of the whole industry in Poland.

Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Kompania Piwowarska (KP), Poland’s leading beer producer, increased net income last year to PLN 481 m (EUR 114.9 m), or 9 percent. Sales grew to PLN 3.36 billion from PLN 3 billion, or 12 percent. ‘Our income makes up 75 percent of income of the whole industry in Poland. I expect we will improve results by further 15 percent this year’, Karl Lippert, KP general director said. According to GUS, Poland’s central statistical office, KP has 35 percent market share in Poland. Last year, it sold 10.3 m of hectolitres of beer.

KP will spend 100 percent of its income to pay out dividend. SABMiller, South African beer company, is its largest shareholder. Euro Agro Centrum owned by Kulczyk Holding holds a 28 percent stake. KP plans to invest PLN 280 m in the upcoming years.
