Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – Stalprofil, Poland’s steel distributor, had sales of PLN 499.8 million (EUR 116.5 million) in the first nine months of this year. In the same period of 2003, sales amounted to PLN 625.9 million. Income grew, however, from PLN 22.39 million to PLN 38.29 million. ‘Sales are lower because we are not trading with oars any more. Before, we used to sell coke to Huta Katowice steel plant’, Jerzy Bernhard, Stalprofil CEO explained.

‘The results are very good and in accordance with our forecast’, Sebastian Slomka, BDM PKO BP analyst commented. Despite that, the shares of Stalprofil fell yesterday from PLN 176.5 in the morning to PLN 168.5.
