Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) - A shame to the idea of local authorities, the rule of law, Poland in the world. This is what politicians do to us, aiming at elections for which we, the taxpayers will pay anyway. Repeated elections for local authorities are a danger for the whole system of absorbing EU funds – specialists warn. They forecast the attendance will be poor. Now and in the next elections. In the name of what? It’s hard to answer this question.

Specialists point out that the costs of renewed elections would be huge. Next to marketing campaigns financed by parties which receive their funds from the state budget, renewed elections mean spending for the election process as well. The costs for Warsaw could be estimated at PLN 2.5m (EUR 643,915). There are 700 local authorities representatives who would have to be chosen again because so many of them failed to deliver some documents on time.
