Ports take ferry bases
The treasury has decided to sell the ferry bases of PZB to the port authorities in Szczecin-Świnoujście and in Gdańsk. Polish ports will have to find over PLN200m for this. Despite the fact that the state owned ferry operator will no longer own the bases, it will continue to use them by renting them from the ports. Świnoujście will have to find PLN198m whilst Gdańsk only PLN18m. The latter will have no problem putting its hands on the cash but the former will have to find credits, possibly from Bank Handlowy and LG Petrobank. PŻB had to sell the bases to raise money to pay its debts. The treasury is hoping to sell it in the second half of this year.
