Putting off other agents
Changes in the commission system at Commercial Union which favour the sales people has led to major walk outs from other insurance companies who are now considering what action to take. The new system means that agents working for CU get commission on a full years insurance which may be paid monthly. Previously they had to wait until the client had paid it. Some agencies of the likes of Nationale-Nederlanden, Zurich, Winterthur, Allianz and Amplico Life are reporting that as many as half their staff have left certain agencies. And certainly it is the best agents who are leaving.
