Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – After Aleksander Chlopecki steps down, the PZU supervisory board will consist of four representatives of the state and four of Eureko.
The dismissal of PZU chairman is connected with the fact that the consolidated financial results of PZU were sent to Dutch Eureko in the period of April 2004 till July 2006. The previous management of the Polish insurer agreed to that. Eureko says that the data were necessary for the reports it has to present to its supervision authorities. The Ministry of the Treasure said that it had never agreed to that. An audit company is going to review this case.
Aleksander Chlopecki voted to ask an independent auditor. Tomorrow he with his deputies (Agata Rowinska and Ernst Jansen) are going to choose the company. Over 10 firms have been asked to present their offers.
“The list includes well known audit companies and lawyer’s offices”, Aleksander Chlopecki said.
He added that when the auditor is chosen, he will resign.
“I promised it to the Minister of the Treasure, Wojciech Jasinski”, PZU chairman explained.
