Road budget reduced
The finance minister has given an oral suggestion to the roads department, GDDP, that it will receive an allocation next year of PLN1,803,000,000 or PLN48m less than this year.
The GDDP considers that only twenty percent of Polish roads are 'good'. Forty percent are consider to be 'unsatisfactory'. Fortunately it does not have only to rely on pathetic amounts coming out of the treasury. Thanks to grants from ISPA and PHARE as well as international bank loans the GDDP will have around PLN4bn to spend in 2002.
