Sanitec boosts its capacity

The producer of bathroom ceramics has developed its Wloclawek plant. It hopes to win the world thanks to the project.

Sanitec Kolo, the producer of bathroom ceramics owned by Finnish Sanitec group, has modernized its plant in Wloclawek. The project cost PLN 85m (EUR 24.5m). Thanks to the investment, the capacity will grow from 1m items to 1.5m items. Sanitec’s total production in Poland will amount to 3.5m items annually. In addition, employment rose at the company from 200 to over 500 people.

“Increased capacity will strengthen Kolo’s position in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. It produces 25 percent of Sanitec’s total production today”, Przemyslaw Powalacz, Sanitec Kolo CEO said.

The company sells 50 percent of its goods in Poland, the rest is exported, mainly to Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The company considers sales in Bulgaria, Romania and Belarus. This year, exports will generate 60 percent of sales.

In 2007, the group had EUR 922m of sales.
