There is a chance that Warsaw will have second line of subway. The Administration of City Transport (ZTM) announced an auction for feasibility study, together with stock delivery for the distance between  Rondo Daszyńskiego and Dworzec Wileński. Offers should be delivered till May the16.

“We have decision according to localization of stations. The auction should be finalized this year. Then, at the beginning of the next year we could apply for UE funds”, Grzegorz Żurawski, spokesman for “Metro Warszawskie” said.

How much it will cost?

“ In 2007-2012 building the part between  Rondo Daszyńskiego to Dworzec Wileński will cost PLN 2.88bn”, Grzegorz Ćwiek, ZTM’s spokesman said.

Every year costs will rise. For 2007 PLN 102,5m is planned, for 2008 – PLN 170,3m, and in 2010 costs will amount to PLN 415,1m. But it is not the end. Also the spendings for preparation of II and III line are predicted. Every year, until 2010 it should be PLN 5m.

„If the parlament will pass the grant from central budget, it will finance part of costs. In case of UE funds, they could be paid back only after we win them”, Grzegorz Ćwiek said.

The project concerns seven station at the distance of  7 km.
