Stuck on stickers

Around one year ago the government first hit on the idea of charging for the use of some roads via a vignette system that is used in Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Slovakia amongst others. This is not a way of winning new friends, the driving public is up in arms against paying again for what has already been paid for in taxes, road licence fee and excise duty.

Opponents to the sticker are worried that the motorway concession holders will take most of the money raised from the vignettes. The A4 motorway between Kraków and Katowice has been charged for nearly three years and A2 Września and Konin will soon be charged.
