The traditional telephony group of Elektrim Telekomunikacja, El-Net, could face bankruptcy if changes to the law in concession payments do not occur. Like many of the operators, a couple of years ago the company accepted that it would pay massive concession costs only to see new operators on the market a short while later paying next to nothing. If El-Net is forced to meet its contractual obligations to the treasury then it will go under. There is currently over PLN1.5bn outstanding to the treasury in concession fees from several operators.
